If you’ve been following my series, “Blogging Our Way to Disney,” you have seen how we’ve been preparing for our big trip. Seems like we’ve been counting down for quite awhile but the time has finally arrived. Bright and early, we hopped in the mini-van and made the 3 hour trip to the air port. Then boarded the plane and headed down to Florida. The kids were so excited that they couldn’t fall asleep the night before.
It was a whirlwind of a day getting those last minute things done, packing for the 6 of us, meeting with my niece who will house sit with the 2 dogs, making autograph books to get signatures from all of the characters we’ll meet….oh and painting the girls fingernails Minnie Mouse style! Had to make time for that! 😉
The plane trip, actually trips because we had a connecting flight out of Detroit, went pretty smoothly. The kids, having never flown before, were so excited. I sat with Faith. She kept tapping my arm saying, “Mom, look!…Mom, look over there…Mom, look at the clouds, the tiny trees and cars.” I love experiencing things with my kids. Seeing things through their eyes is the best!
We had a very long day of travel. We grabbed our luggage and then made our way to find our vehicle for the week. An awesome Kia Sorento. It took a bit for me to figure out how to drive such a brand new vehicle. 😉 We piled in and set off making just one stop at a Publix to pick up some groceries. We finally made it to our vacation home and settled in.
During our trip, a lot of our time will be spent at Disney but we’re also looking forward to spending time exploring the area. I can’t wait to find a nice beach to sit on and just relax.
Stay tuned and follow our journey.
