If you’ve ever been to Disney, you’ve probably seen people walking through the parks with lanyards full of Disney Trading Pins. The last time we went, which was 4 years ago, we thought they were very cool. But, couldn’t afford the price tag!
Taking a trip to Disney World is not the most frugal vacation in the world. It’s worth the effort to do as much planning before you go so that you can save on anything you need or may want while you’re there.
The Disney Trading Pins are a perfect example. We learned that you can buy lots of pins off of eBay. So I started my eBay search. At first I found a lot of single pins that were still pretty expensive as far as I’m concerned. Then I ran across lots of them…lots of 25, 50, 100, etc. The difference in these auctions was the lot that you’d receive would be random. You have no choice of the pins you get.
The sellers I was looking at, guaranteed authenticity and some said no doubles and maybe that you could request a specific pin but still no guarantee that you’d get it.
These are the best ones to find! Why? Because once you get to Disney, you can trade your pins at any of the parks. I ended up only paying about $.50 per pin vs. $6+ that I would have had to pay at the parks. It won’t matter if the kids like the ones we get because they’ll be able to trade for ones they do like once we get there.
Plus, I was able to get lanyards and id card holders from the same seller. The kids even got to pick out which lanyard they wanted. Worked out great!
