I worked with Visit Eau Claire who arranged a Fall Family Adventure for us in and around Eau Claire, WI. For the first day of our adventures, make sure to read up on the Visit Eau Claire site.

The first day of our Fall Family Adventure, we visited Sculpture Tour, The Plus, Wagner’s, and stayed at The Plaza.

Fall Family Adventure Day Two

Schultz’s Country Barn

We started off our day with complimentary breakfast at The Plaza. From there we headed to Schultz’s Country Barn. It’s just a short drive south of Eau Claire in Eleva. Schultz’s Country Barn has garden produce in the summer and early fall, along with pumpkins, gourds, squash and Indian Cron in the fall.

Schultz’s is a fun place to take the kids, see some farm animals, shop in their quaint store and even head through the corn maze. We had a beautiful fall day and spent a good hour making our way through the maze. It’s a fun way to spend an afternoon and get out some extra energy.

Autumn Harvest Winery

For some apple picking and wine tasting, head to Autumn Harvest Winery. They are located just north of Eau Claire in the Hallie/Chippewa Falls area. Established in 2004, Autumn Harvest Winery opened as the Chippewa Fall’s first winery. The tasting room is open seasonally, May through October. Pick your own apples and ready picked apples, and wagon rides and a free corn maze are also available.

Grizzly’s

fall family adventure

After a fun day out and about, it was nice to get to sit down and have a great meal at Grizzly’s. The staff is awesome and the food is even better. Grizzly’s is known for their wood-fired chicken. Tim ordered chicken and raved about it. There’s nothing like a moist chicken breast cooked right over an open flame. I had one of their famous pasta dishes. It was delish. I had plenty to take home for left overs.

Day Three

Riverside Bike & Skate

We again started our day with the great breakfast at The Plaza. It was a rainy day so we did not get to enjoy the fun bike ride we had scheduled. Riverside Bike & Skate rents and services bicycles, canoes, kayaks, rollerblades, child trailers, and ice skates. Eau Claire has some great bike trails so if you’re looking for a fun fall family activity, start at Riverside Bike & Skate. They’ll be able to take care of the whole family.

Mogie’s Pub & Restaurant

To get in out of the rain, we stopped in to Mogie’s Pub on historic Water Street for lunch. Mogie’s has a great pub atmosphere and serves some really delicious food. All 6 of us enjoyed something different. Everything was great including the service. Mogie’s Pub is home of Eau Claire’s greatest burgers. They offer a fun, casual atmosphere, 17 tap beers, a full bar, and televised sporting events.

I want to thank all participating businesses for helping us with our great Fall Family Adventure. Whether you are a resident looking for something to do this fall or a visitor to Eau Claire, there’s plenty of adventure to be had.
