I love the beach! I love going to the beach, but even more than that I enjoy staying at a hotel on the beach. I have wonderful memories of our family vacation spent at the beach every summer. We always stayed at the same place, Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Last year was no different. We took my Grandmother, In-Laws, Sister, niece and nephew along with my husband, son and daughter.

We got there a little early because, honestly, we aren’t that far away. When I checked in they said we could go ahead and unpack because our rooms were ready. With 4 toddlers, you have no idea how happy this made me! They were also able to find us three rooms next to each other. That makes life so much easier, because my Grandma, sister and her kids were in the middle room, my family was on one side and my In-Laws on the other. We were all in one spot so that we could easily help each other or watch each other’s children if we wanted to walk on the beach sans kids.

I booked the Courtyard Rooms because they overlook a tropical landscape and they are more secluded than the poolside rooms. Every morning we would open our sliding glass door in the breakfast nook so that my niece and nephew could visit before heading down to the beach. The kids were so excited that they got to spend time with their cousins running and playing at the beach. In the afternoon we could all sit outside our rooms and visit in the courtyard while the kids were napping. After naps we would relax at the pool. There was a small kiddie pool and a heated pool.

Wakulla Suites is a family owned hotel and has a “homey” feel. Each room has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a full and a twin size bed. My daughter was still sleeping in a crib, so they actually had a play pen we could use for her to sleep. The hotel also had a high chair for us to use at no additional cost. The living room consists of a couch, two chairs, end tables, desk and TV. Each room also has a kitchenette and breakfast nook. Once we checked in and got everyone settled, my husband and I ran over to the local Publix and got groceries for the week. This is a HUGE money saver, especially when you are paying for gas and accommodations on your vacation.

We stayed for a week and it was wonderful! Spending time at the beach, spending time with family and making memories with my children that I hope they cherish when they get older. I can’t wait for our next family vacation. If you are looking for a vacation at the beach, I recommend Wakulla Suites in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
