Gulf Coast

Panama City Beach,

Florida

I had the pleasure of visiting Panama City Beach, Florida, which located on the Gulf Coast!  I love to visit the Gulf Coast because it is so beautiful.  We stayed at the Majestic Beach Resort, which was also located on the Gulf.  We were there for the Gulf Coast Jam, which was a 3 day Country Music Event.

Since we only there for 3 days, we wanted to experience some of the fun things that are available to do. ¬†Actually, Panama City Beach has so much to do, that we would needed at least a week there. ¬†You can ParaSail, rent these cool little cars, rent a Harley, rent a scooter, visit WonderWorks, Gulf World Marine Park and even Ripley’s Believe it or Not, just to name a few.

We had lunch right on the water at Hook D, Pier Bar & Grill. ¬†I don’t know what was better, the food or just being able to sit and look out at the Gulf. ¬†The food was fabulous as was the view.

It is located right next to the Pier. ¬†You can fish off the pier if you want, but you do need a fishing license. ¬†If you don’t have one, you can pay for the day upon entering the pier. ¬†I also learned that any restaurant that you don’t have to walk through the building to get to the patio, you can bring your dog with you. ¬†To the right of¬†Russell-Fields City¬†Pier, located across from Pier Park at 16101 Front Beach Road,¬†is also dog friendly and you can walk along the beach there and let your dog swim in the Gulf. ¬†¬†Signs are posted to mark the designated area where dogs are allowed.

After, we went across the street to check out all neat shops at Pier Park.

They also have rides for little ones, including a Butterfly Exhibit.  There are many places to eat and has something for everyone.

We had to skip some of the concerts in order to enjoy the beach and the Gulf.  Did you know that Panama City Beach, Florida has

  • Twenty-seven miles of internationally-recognized sugar-white sand beaches where the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrew Bay converge
  • More than 320 days a sunshine per year with a year-round average temperature of 74 degrees
  • Renowned for historic off-shore wrecks and one of the highest concentrations of bottlenose dolphins in the world
  • Activities and events for families, seniors, adventure-seekers, youth and amateur sports and spring break vacationers
  • Tents are welcome on our beach

I wish we had more time to spend there, because you can even see dolphins.  Dolphins can often be seen all along Panama City Beach. The jetties at St. Andrews State Park is a popular gathering spot for dolphins making it one the local hotspots for dolphin watching. Several private tours are also available for visitors to enjoy some amazing dolphin encounters. It is important to remember however that feeding or harassing dolphins in the wild is illegal.

And let’s not forget the gorgeous sunsets!
