Prince Conference Center – Grand Rapids, MI
**I received two nights stay from the Prince Conference Center. However, all thoughts, words, and opinions are 100% my own.**
When planning a vacation the first thing most people look for is their choice of lodging. Most large cities are full of options from popular chains to small bed and breakfasts. On a recent visit to Grand Rapids, MI, I was looking for something off the beaten path to explore and was delighted to find out that Calvin College in Grand Rapids had an onsite Hotel and Conference center. The Prince Conference Center has a 69 room hotel that is available to non-university guests. The hotel provides a quiet retreat away from the hustle of major hotels. This made it a perfect option for our weekend getaway to Grand Rapids.
My first thought upon entering the Prince Conference Center was how quiet and peaceful the building was. So many times when checking into a hotel there is so much noise and chaos. I just loved how calm it was even when the lobby was full later that evening with a group that was using the connected Conference Center. Our room was spacious and included a table with 2 chairs as well as a small study desk. The bathroom sink was separate from the toilet and shower which made getting ready easier because no one was tying up all 3 areas at one time. I did like the fact that there was a large shower instead of a tub because I have never used a normal tub while traveling. I do however love to take a nice long shower and have plenty of space. The beds were comfortable and perfect after a busy day exploring local attractions.
The Prince Conference Center is set in the woods and surrounded by trees, wetlands, and a nature trail. You will also find several picnic tables and benches outside for relaxing and enjoying the view. These are a perfect spot for winding down and enjoying the scenery during the day and night.
The Prince Conference Center does provide a deluxe continental breakfast each morning for its guests and 24 hour coffee service. The breakfast did not disappoint either morning with offerings including biscuits and gravy, omelettes, and waffles. There is onsite Internet access, a fitness center and cable television.
We could not have asked for a better stay than the one we received at the Prince Conference Center. We are already making plans for our next visit to the Grand Rapids area and when we do visit we will be staying at the Prince Conference Center.
