Snacks – This is a crucial part to taking a road trip with kids and keeping everyone sane. Make sure you pack a cooler full of quick snacks that will keep your kids full and satisfied. Pick easy choices like mini sandwiches, fruit, cheese or anything else that your kids can eat on the go.
Individual Activity Bags – Make sure you pack individual bags full of fun activities that each of your kids’ enjoy. Whether it is crayons, books, hand puppets or cards you need to have items on hand that will keep them busy. A good idea is to only let them have one activity from the bag at a time so that they do not become bored with all of their supplies quickly.
Car Games – One of our favorite games growing up that we played in the car was the memory alphabet game. This is when the first person starts with the letter “A” and says what they packed on vacation that starts with that letter. Then the next has to recite that item and then move on to “B.” This game can honestly go for awhile! Some other suggestions include lyrics to songs, I Spy, and finding certain items outside.
