Waterpark in Indiana

Life around here has been crazy! We have been needing a vacation for a long time. Our family decided to take a short trip to Big Splash Adventure Indoor Water Park & Resort which is a Waterpark in Indiana.  It was definitely a hit with the family!

Location Information:

Big Splash Adventure is a 40,000 square foot indoor water park-complete with a rare retractable roof-located in French Lick Indiana, and adventure unlike any other!  Big Splash has many thrilling, twisting, and exciting water slides and a whirling turbo bowl! The interactive Buccaneer Bay thrills and excites children of all ages—especially the 1000 gallon dumping bucket! The Splish Splash pool is perfect for the youngest of adventurers, and the activity center—complete with water basketball and other fun activities—is great for older kids. For adults, there is the adults only Palm Cove hot tub, and don’t forget the Lost River! The river flows lazily throughout the park.

Upon checking in, the family is each given a wristband so you can immediately use the waterpark even if your room isn’t ready.  We were lucky enough that our room was ready and we got to go on in and unpack.  The waterpark was everything that I expected.  It was very kid friendly. My kids which are ages 13, 10 and 5 could do everything in the park! The indoor waterpark has everything! A lazy river, water basketball, kid water slides, balancing lilypads, toddler slides, 3 larger water slides, big water playground with sprayers and a big water bucket that dumped out every few minutes. They also had an adult whirlpool and outdoor swimming pool.

The waterpark was build like a large greenhouse so that you can visit when it’s not so nice weather. The lodge does provide free towels for use in the waterpark area.  They were perfect for the kids, but a little small for an adult. You might one to bring a beach towel of your own if you want to be able to wrap it all the way around you. The lifeguards in the waterpark were very attentive and I felt comfortable letting my kids go on the waterslides without me right by their side.
Another thing that I liked was the fact that the wristband was also our room key.  You just had to pass it across the sensor and the door opened.  I liked not having to keep up with a key.  Our room was very nice and large and VERY clean. They also had a nice restaurant with a wide selection of foods and a pizza place in the arcade.  Another bonus was a free breakfast was included in your room price!  It was a good breakfast, too.  Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, cereals, drinks, pancakes and more!
Checkout the next day was at 11 but you still got to use the waterpark until it closed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Big Splash Adventure to any family! For more information or to make a reservation, make sure to check out their website.
