Close friends of ours moved down to Madison, WI for Law School. We decided to head on down for a visit. Well actually my husband was planning on having a “guys weekend” but I decided that the kids and I needed a mini-vacation too. 🙂

We all hopped in the mini-van and off we went. Madison is only a 3 hour trip for us so it wasn’t too bad. The kids have been on WAY longer trips and done just great. We’ve driven form Wisconsin to Washington state twice and form Wisconsin to Florida once. So 3 hours is a piece of cake.

We didn’t have any real plans for the weekend but I was looking specifically for lodging with a kid friendly pool. My kids love the water but the twins are still a little small for regular pools! After researching online, I found the Courtyard Marriott in Middleton, WI. Middleton is just on the west side of Madison. I’m not a big city girl so being able to stay just outside of Madison was great!

As for the Courtyard? It was great too! We loved it there. They have a beautiful hotel, friendly staff, and their rooms were nice, quiet, comfy, cozy and fit all 6 of us comfortably. The price was affordable too.

The pool is amazing. Definitely kid friendly but also fine for adults too. The pool is Zero Depth Entry Indoor Pool with Enhanced Features. They also have a nice whirlpool for relaxing.

The kids could have spent the entire weekend in the hotel and not complained at all. In fact the only complaining I got was when they weren’t swimming. 😉

We did venture out a bit to enjoy Madison. Made a visit to the Henry Villas Madison Zoo. That was nice. No charge to get in so it didn’t cost an arm and a leg to entertain the kids. They have this huge outdoor play area full of equipment to climb all over as well as a big carousel. It only cost $.50 for the kids to ride.

We have definitely found our hotel of choice when visiting the Madison area. If you’re planning a visit there, I would recommend you give them a try.

Helpful info. Fortunate me I discovered your site unintentionally, and I will be surprised why this accident didn’t came to exist beforehand! I bookmarked it.
