Wisconsin Winter Getaways – We took 2 days off of Homeschool (our Winter Break) to take a trip down to Wisconsin Dells Kalahari. It was the perfect  Wisconsin Winter Getaways! If you are anywhere close to the Dells or Wisconsin and have never been to the Wisconsin Dells area, it’s a must see. In the summer, it is the Water park mecca. Not just water parks but amusement parks, entertainment, shops, etc. It’s a small town packed with a ton to do.

However, it’s not just for summer vacationing. A lot of the resorts have indoor water parks that are spectacular. The Kalahari is absolutely amazing. You walk into the resort and are transformed to another part of the world.

Wisconsin Winter Getaways – Kalahari

Wisconsin Winter Getaways

The entire resort has an African theme. It’s fun just to walk around and explore. We took a lot of pictures of the resort in general. They have a lot of activities to do other than the water parks also. We arrived mid afternoon and got to decorate cookies before we headed off to burn off the sugar. 😉 They have a schedule of daily activities for the kids. That’s always really great when you are spending a few days at a place.

There is also an attached arcade, an indoor amusement park and a theater within walking distance. I couldn’t drag my kids out of the water park long enough to check any of the other activities out though. I think if we had spent a longer time there, we definitely would have explored more. So much to do under one roof, it’s awesome!

They also have great restaurants and stores right at the resort so no need to leave at all. I thought the prices, while were a tad higher, were priced at a point to allow me to stay right at the resort and not bother to run out and get food. Convenience is worth a little bit more to me. And the pizza we had for dinner was delicious!

The water park was a ton of fun and truly meant for all ages. I loved that they had areas for the young babies and toddlers, areas for all ages, and areas for adults only. Like a swim up bar. Oh and my all time favorite the indoor/outdoor hot tub. Amazing!!

Take a look at the pictures below in the gallery (just click on one and you can look through bigger versions..click off of them to return to the post) and also a video of one of my kids surfing!

We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend the Wisconsin Dells Kalahari! One of the great Wisconsin Winter Getaways!
